Sheffield Winter Classic: Spartans v Senators - next Saturday 27th December

Next Saturday, 27th December will see the inaugural Sheffield Winter Classic Game between Spartans & Senators take place at Ice Sheffield, facing off at 4.15pm. It promises to be a great occasion in this festive and family orientated time of year, where we can celebrate Sheffield’s vibrant amateur hockey scene with friends past and present, as well as making new friends too in the process.

The Sheffield Ice Hockey Academy has continued to grow and develop from its humble beginnings in 1991; we are now one of the premier set-ups in the country.  This game is all about celebrating the Sheffield Ice Hockey Academy by showcasing our finest senior talents alongside the next generation of Spartans and Senators. As part of this celebration our current U14’s teams, the Stormers & Sabres will take part in an exhibition game which will face off at 3.30pm.

The day of the Sheffield Winter Classic is a day the academy are proud to hold such a fixture and show its self off in the best possible way. This may be a history making day as the club holds it’s first Winter Classic but there is more history to be made by the juniors who are to follow the senior players of today as it will be those young players who will be taking to the ice in future Winter Classic games.
