The Deeside D1 Dragons face their most important challenge since the club was reformed after the Covid closure – or, quite possibly, ever - when they take on Telford Tigers in the two legged Moralee Cup final this weekend.
It is also quite an achievement for the Tigers to have reached the cup final in their first season up in the Moralee Division, having won the Laidler Division title last season and made the step up in the summer.
There has been little to choose between the two
teams so far this season and they are locked in a fascinating battle for second
place in the league table as well being rivals for the cup.
Deeside, however, hold a slight advantage in head
to head matches after having narrowly beaten the Tigers in overtime when they
last met 3 weeks ago.
The away game is in Telford on Saturday – 6pm face
off – and the deciding home leg is at Deeside Leisure Centre on Sunday, 5.15 pm
face off. Both games are ticket only and completely sold out.
As ever, there is lots more Dragons news on the club’s official website: www.dragonsihc.co.uk
