The Sheffield Steelkings A team won
the British Para Ice Hockey League Play Off title for an unprecedented fourth
time in a row after beating Manchester Mayhem 5-0 in the final at Lee Valley on
Sunday.
They add the play off crown to the
league title that they have already won this season, representing their second
league and play off “double” in consecutive years.
The Steelkings got the weekend off to
a flying start, beating Cardiff Huskies 11-3 in the first semi final on
Saturday. The other semi final saw the Manchester Mayhem shut out the other
Sheffield team - the Steelkings B (known as the “Stings”) – 0-4 to reach the
final for the first time since 2017.
The third place game on Sunday saw the
Cardiff beat the Stings 3-2 to deprive the Sheffield development side of their
first ever play off medal.
