Sunday
4th October 2026 – NIHL Laidler Division: Billingham Buccaneers 6 - Deeside D2
Dragons 2
The
Deeside D2 Dragons lost 6-2 away to Billingham Buccaneers on Sunday evening.
The
Dragons actually scored first with a goal from Cameron Kushnirenko but three
goals for the hosts saw them leading 3-1 at the first period break.
Lucas
Betts scored for Deeside in the second period but three more Billingham goals
saw the Buccaneers with a healthy 6-2 lead at the second interval.
Recent
signing Mike Rogers – a former Senior Dragons and ex-Blackburn and Altrincham
netminder – took over from Jake Lowndes in the Deeside goal for the third
period and the final 20 minutes played out goal-less.
Ben
Roscoe – who has obviously benefited from “playing up” with the senior Dragons
in the Moralee Division – put in a battling performance and was named MVP for
Deeside.
The
D2 Dragons are back at home this weekend when they have back to back home games
against Coventry Blaze on Saturday 10th October and league leaders Sutton
Sting on Sunday 11th October at Deeside Leisure Centre.
Supporters
are asked to take note of the fact that both games will face off at the later
time of 6.30pm.
