Sunday 4^th October 2026 – WNIHL U16 Girls North: Manchester Storm U16G 1 – Deeside Dragons U16 Girls 3

The Deeside Dragons Under 16 Girls team picked up their first win of the new season with a 1-3 victory away to Manchester Storm in Altrincham on Sunday.

The Storm actually had more of the play in this game and outshot the Dragons by more than 2 to 1 over the 45 minute duration, but were not able to make the most of their chances when they came.

Deeside, however, were sharper in offence and opened the scoring on 5 minutes with a powerplay goal from Emmie Lauder and the score remained 0-1 at the first period break.

Niamh Walsh edged the Dragons girls further ahead on 27 minutes to give them a 0-2 lead at the second interval but Manchester finally scored a goal of their own on a powerplay on 35 minutes.

Walsh scored her second goal of the game on 39 minutes to round off the scoring for the evening – and secure a 1-3 victory for the Dragons.
