They saw off the Stars 5-2 at home on the Saturday night and
then travelled back from the North East with a 4-4 draw having snatched an
equaliser in the very last minute.
Those results leave the Hawks 1 point clear at the top of
the table having played two games fewer than Whitley – who they play again at
home in early January.
Solihull Barons moved head of their west Midlands rivals
Telford Tigers into 3rd place following a 9-4 win at home to Sutton
Sting. The Barons are 1 point ahead of
the Tigers having played the same number of games.
The other Moralee games of the weekend saw Sheffield
Spartans and Sheffield Senators meet “home and away” at iceSheffield. The Spartans won 3-7 away and 10-2 at home leaving
the Senators rock bottom of the table without a single point from their 17
games to date.
