The Connah’s Quay Cobras have boosted their roster with the signing of highly experienced former Deeside Dragons forward Chris Keating.
Keating is a veteran of over 140 NIHL appearances over 7 seasons with Lancashire Raptors, Altrincham Aces and Deeside Dragons and in that time has scored 60 goals and 60 assists.
Keating’s arrival at the Cobras brings the team contingent of players with league experience to 6 as he joins Sam Krempasky, Kenny Williams & Sam Plant (all Deeside Dragons), Kieran Clarkson (Bradford and Altrincham) and Stewart Cutting (Slough Jets).
Talking about joining the Connah’s Quay team, Keating said:
“I’m excited about the prospect of playing for the Cobras. I’ve been really impressed with the organisation and vision of the club. Emma and Scott have set up a really interesting concept in regards to what the club offers. The club focuses on good values but also incorporates technology and statistics to improve players and the team.”
Commenting on Keating’s signing, team manager and coach Scott Dutton said:
“We are delighted to finally have Chris sign with us. After playing alongside many of the Cobras players over the years, he already has chemistry with the team. Chris is a really positive and reliable team player who performs well under pressure and is another strong signing leading up to next year's Summer Classic Cup.”
The Cobras are next in action on Sunday 10th December when they take on the Bradford Ice Wolves at Deeside Leisure Centre. Face off is 8.30pm – after the Deeside Dragons v Sheffield Scimitars NIHL game - and admission is free for all spectators.
