The Widnes Wild NIHL team unveiled a special set of “10th Anniversary” playing shirts at the home game against Deeside Dragons on Saturday night.
The shirts are white in colour – as opposed to the usual yellow – and are intended as a throwback to the original playing colour that the Wild wore in their earlier seasons.
The players’ shirts are available to “own and loan” via the club but no replica versions will be on sale.
Widnes Wild played their first ever match in August 2013 and are now in their 11th season. It is their 10th league campaign, however, as the 2020/21 league season was cancelled due to the Covid Pandemic and only a series of “behind closed doors” cup games were able to be played.
You can read all about the first 10 years of the Widnes team – with season by season by season results, player statistics, league tables and lots of photos - in the “10 Years In The Wild” book, which is available from HERE and various other mail order outlets.
