Under 16 Girls North: Whitley Bay U16G 14 - Deeside Dragons
U16G 0
The Deeside
Dragons Under 16 girls team’s slender chances of winning the league title were
dashed after a 14-0 defeat away to league leaders Whitley Bay on Saturday.
Whitley were
by far the stronger team, with a 100% record for the season so far, and were on
top from the very start.
The result
means that Whitley have secured their third league title in a row and the
Dragonettes will finish the season as runners-up, which is still a superb
achievement in only their second year of competition.
The top two
teams will take part in the end of season play off weekend in Sheffield from 23rd
to 25th May where they will play against the top two finishers from the
U16 League South to decide a national champion.
The Dragons
girls have another trip to Sheffield before that, however, as they take on the
Sheffield Shadows U16s on Saturday 9th May in their last game of the
regular season.
