back over the Summer Classic Cup play offs at iceSheffield last weekend, Connah’s
Quay Cobras player coach Emma Dutton said:
“This time last year we had only played three games of hockey as a team with one win. We've had the most incredible season and worked together to earn our place at playoff weekend.”
“By showcasing some of the best hockey we've ever played, we got the win against Leeds Lightning. Although it was disappointing to lose to Don Valley in the final after being up 5-0, we're still immensely proud of our achievements in just our first year competing for the cup.”
"This experience has only fuelled our determination, and we're excited to bring our energy and passion to RecFest next weekend."
Team Manager Scott Dutton added:
“It's the Cobras first full season and we came so close to winning the cup. It has been an incredible journey with the team and I am very proud of everyone's performance, both at playoffs and all season.”
“It was great to have such support in the crowds at Sheffield. Both games were extremely crowd pleasing and hearing the roars really pushed the team on.”
The Cobras are back in Sheffield again this weekend 17th & 18th August when they will take part in the annual RecFest tournament. They finished as runners up in the tournament last year and will be hoping to go one better this time around.
