The Deeside Ducks have announced the signing of Heather Clarkson to add to their roster for their debut 2024/25 Laidler Division season.
The
18 year old defender is a former Manchester mixed juniors player, was captain
of the Manchester Storm Under 16 girls team for two seasons and has also played
Women’s Elite League hockey for the Hull-based Kingston Diamonds.
Heather spent last season playing for the Widnes Wild Under 18 team. She was also selected as a reserve for the Great Britain women’s Under 18 squad that played in the 4 Nations tournament in Spain in November 2023 but did not actually get called up to play.
Talking
about joining the Ducks, Heather said:
“I
am honoured to get the opportunity to train and play alongside everyone. I feel that it’s going to be a good season
and I can’t wait to see where it goes.”
Ducks’
Assistant Coach Stewart Cutting said of Clarkson:
“Heather
is a bright young hockey player joining from Widnes. She sees the game well and
isn't afraid to get stuck in. I am looking forward to seeing this talented
individual develop her game further with the Ducks.”
