Wild Women Face Cup Challenge

The Widnes Wild women’s team are back on the cup trail this weekend as they take on Telford Wrekin Raiders this Sunday 16th February at Planet Ice Widnes, 4.25pm face off.

The two league meetings between Widens and Telford this season have been very close with the Wild Women having one win and one draw. They have struggled so far in the cup, however, and two defeats at the hands of the other team in the three-way competition, Sheffield Shadows, mean that Widnes are unlikely to win the trophy and have to depend on results between the other teams.

So, they are mostly playing for pride on Sunday - and to keep the momentum going for their league title challenge, which is, obviously, the main priority for the season.

Admission to Wild Women’s games is free for all spectators and, with the men’s NIHL team away in Solihull the same day, this is an excellent opportunity for any non-travelling fans to get their “hockey fix” for the weekend.
