Having already won the North West league title, they played North East
champions Billingham on Saturday to decide an overall North Champion.
They had to fight back after going 2-0 down early on to eventually win
4-2 with goals coming from Poppy Ward (2), Harrison Ward and Ruben Batho.
This result saw the Dragons pitted against South champions Slough on
Sunday for the National title.
That game was just as closely contested with Deeside opening up an early
lead with two goals from Poppy Ward before Slough pegged them back to 2-2.
Harrison Ward edged the young Dragons back in front and they had to
endure a tense last few minutes as Slough took off their netminder in favour of
an extra attacker to try and force a late equaliser.
The Deeside defence managed to keep them at bay, however, with Violet
Lennon performing heroics in the Dragons net to secure the 3-2 victory and the
National Division 2 Championship.
