Cardiff Huskies moved to the top of the British Para Ice Hockey League table with a comprehensive 9-0 victory over Peterborough Phantoms in the Welsh capital on Saturday.
The Huskies led 2-0
after the first period, 4-0 after the second and then fired in 5 more goals in
the third, outshooting the Phantoms by 16 to 7 overall.
Tyler Christopher
top-scored for Cardiff with 3 goals and 3 assists, Shannon Couch weighed in
with 3 goals and Jon le Galloudec, Tyler Konner and Dani Czernuszka-Watts all
scored one each.
Nicole Hill and
Daniel Hutchinson shared duties in the Cardiff goal and notched up a 7-shot
shut out
With
Cardiff taking over at the top of the table, with 4 points from their 3 games
so far this season, Sheffield Steelstings, Sheffield Steelkings and Manchester
Mayhem - none of whom played at the weekend - all drop down a place and remain
on two points each.
Peterborough
Phantoms are still propping up the table with two defeats from their two games
to date.
This coming Saturday - 20th June - sees Manchester Mayhem
entertain the Phantoms in Widnes (5.25pm face off) and the Sheffield Steelkings
take on Cardiff at iceSheffield, 6.20pm start.
