The Widnes Wildcats had a difficult weekend that saw them slump to two defeats on the road in the Summer Cup competition. They lost 14-3 away to the Kingston Cobras in Hull on Saturday and then were beaten 10-0 on Sunday night by a very strong Blackburn Falcons team in East Lancashire.

Following these results, the Wildcats remain bottom of the Summer Cup table with 3 points from their 8 games to date, although they do still have games in hand over all the other teams in the competition.

They are next in action this Sunday 30th July when they take on Grimsby Lightning in their next group game at Silver Blades Widnes.  The game faces off at 4.30pm and admission is free.

There is actually a double header of ice hockey on Sunday at Silver Blades Widnes as the Riverside Raiders play their Puckstop Summer Classic semi-final against the Blackburn-based Wyre Seagulls later the same day in an 8.30pm face off.
