The Deeside
Ducks rounded off their debut Laidler Division season with a 9-1 defeat away to
Nottingham Lions on Sunday.
Having
already beaten the Lions at home in Deeside a few weeks earlier, there were
hopes that the Ducks might finish the season on a high note, but it was not to
be.
Nottingham
were on top pretty much from the start and led 3-0 at the first period break.
It was 5-0 after two periods and 8-0 before Kieran Clarkson fired in a consolation
strike for Deeside on 47 minutes.
A late goal
for Nottingham finished off the scoring for the game and the Ducks’ first
season of league competition was brought to a close.
They finish
in 10th place in the Laidler Division table with 3 regulation wins and an
overtime win from their 26 games.
