Sunday 20^th October 2024 – NIHL Laidler Division: Sheffield  Titans 6 – Deeside Ducks 0

The Deeside Ducks suffered a 6-0 defeat to the Sheffield Titans away in the Steel City on Sunday.

The game was very close in its early stages – with numerous chances for both sides – but remained goal-less until the Titans finally broke the deadlock on 17 minutes.

The hosts took a narrow 1-0 lead into the first interval but 4 more unanswered goals in the second period left the Ducks trailing 5-0 with 20 minutes left to play.

Deeside have struggled to score on their away trips so far this season and the only goal of the third period fell to Sheffield, handing them a 6-0 victory.

Despite the defeat, netminder Paul Jones put in a creditable display in goal and was named Most Valuable Player for the Ducks.

The Ducks travel to face last season’s league and cup champions Telford Tigers this Saturday 26^th October, 5.30pm face off.
