The
Deeside Dragons Under 16 Girls team opened their season with a 3-3 home draw
with Leeds at Deeside Leisure Centre on Saturday.
The
Dragons raced to a 3-0 lead in the first period with goals from Niamh Walsh (2)
and Ella Mitchell but Leeds pegged them back in the second to level at 3-3. A
goal-less third period ensued and the game ended in a 3-3 draw. Lucy Kolisek
was named MVP for the Dragons Girls and Savannah Morgan was Hardest Worker.
Due
to a somewhat unbalanced fixture list, the Under 16 Girls now play a number of
away games in a row - with Altrincham the next port of call on 4th October
for a match against Manchester Storm.
They
then face SIX more away trips before their next home game which will take place
on Saturday 13th March when they entertain the Caledonia Iron
Maidens at Deeside Leisure Centre.
