The
Widnes Wild Women continue to assemble their roster for the forthcoming 2026/27
WNIHL season in Division 1 North with the re-signing of several more members of
last season’s Division 1 team.
Katie
Adshead returns for her 8th season with the Wild team, having originally joined
for the 2018/19 season. She has notched up 93 matches in that time, scoring 3
goals and 8 assists with 28 penalty minutes and was a key member of both the
2019/20 and 2024/25 title winning seasons.
As well as being Assistant Coach and Assistant Manager, Suzie Miller also returns to the Wild Women for her 7th season as a player. To date she has played 76 games and contributed 4 assists from her defensive role.
Jennifer Hickey joined the Wild Women for the 2021/22 season and has played in 77 games overall. In her 4 seasons to date, she has contributed 7 goals and 14 assists and picked up just 10 penalty minutes.
Victoria
Connelly is back for her fifth season as a Widnes player. She is a former
Guildford Lightning Elite player, previously playing for the Bracknell Fire
Bees and has made 38 appearances for the Wild Women over the past 4 seasons,
scoring 8 goals and 6 assists.
Ontario-born
Lise Gillen brings a wealth of experience having played 3 seasons for the
Guildford Lightning in the Women’s Elite League, as well as playing in her
native Canada. She has played 40 games for Widnes over the past 4 seasons,
scoring 17 goals and 13 assists.
The
Wild Women start their league campaign in women’s Division 1 North on Sunday 20th
September when they take on Nottingham Vipers at Planet Ice Widnes, 4.25pm face
off.
