The Deeside D2 Dragons have announced that netminder Leo Hyman will return for his second season with the development team, for the forthcoming 2026/27 Laidler Division season.

Hyman was a Deeside junior and made his senior NIHL debut with the D2 Dragons last season. Originally set up as the Deeside Ducks for the 2024/25 season, the D2 Dragons team is designed to act as a stepping stone between the highly respected Deeside junior development system and the senior Dragons Moralee Division side and offers promising younger players the opportunity to gain extra ice time and experience by playing regular league hockey.

Last season Hyman kept goal in 18 league and play off games, ending up with a Goals Against Average of 5.28 and an 86.17 Save Percentage.

He backstopped the Dragons to 7 of their 10 league wins, which helped them to their highest ever finish of 6th place in the Laidler Division table and saw them reach the Play Off final for the first time.
