The Manchester Mayhem
sledge team currently sit in third place in the British Para Ice Hockey League table
with three wins and three defeats from their 6 games to date.
Looking back
at the season so far, Mayhem Club Chairman, coach and senior player Karl Nicholson
said:
“We've
made real strides this season, and it's been fantastic to see the progress the
team has made. Our passing, shape, and communication on the ice have all
improved significantly, and you can really see the hard work from training
starting to translate into our performances.”
“The
three or four new players we've welcomed this season are settling in well and
improving every week. They're gaining confidence and experience, and we're
excited to see them continue to develop. They will be an even bigger part of
what we're building next season.”
“While
there have been some disappointing moments, particularly our collapse against
Sheffield, it's important to remember that we matched them for two full
periods. That showed just how far we've come as a team. Naturally, everyone was
disappointed with how that game ended, but we responded well and bounced back
positively.”
“More
than anything, it feels like we're becoming a real team. We're supporting each
other, communicating well, and playing with a clear identity. The results are
beginning to reflect the work we're putting in, and there's genuine excitement
about where this group can go. We're building something strong, and the future
looks promising.”
The Mayhem are at home this Saturday 25th July when they take on
the Sheffield Steelkings B team at Planet Ice, Widnes, 5.25pm face off.
This is their last home game of the season and they will round off the regular
season with an away trip to face Peterborough Phantoms on 30th August.
A win for the Mayhem on Saturday would confirm their qualification for the
end of season play offs which will take place at Lee Valley Ice Centre over the
weekend of 12th & 13th September.
