Laidler Conference Round Up - 16th & 17th Jan 2016

Deeside Dragons once again demonstrated their title winning credentials with a 4 point weekend . They shut out local rivals Altrincham Aces 8-0 on Saturday night and then won 3-8 away at Hull Jets in a game where the hosts only managed 17 shots on goal all game.

The Dragons are now 13 points ahead of second place Widnes Wild but have played 4 games more.
The Dragons have just 6 games left to play in the current campaign and could possibly secure the title with a win in the game away at Widnes on 14th February, depending on results elsewhere.

The Wild had to come from 2 goals down to beat bottom team Coventry Blaze on Sunday night.  They ended up, however, comfortable 10-3 winners with player coach Scott McKenzie hitting 3+2.

In the other Laidler game of the weekend, Blackburn Eagles beat Bradford Bulldogs 9-2. James Riddoch top scored with 3+2 and import Tomas Mitrik chipped in with 1+4. The Eagles are enjoying their best ever season and are comfortable in 4th place in the table, 8 points ahead of 5th placed Altrincham.
