Hitherto second place Widnes Wild lost 3-2 away at
Nottingham Lions and that result sees the Lions leapfrog the Wild up into
second. However, they are now a massive 8 points behind the leaders with just
one game in hand.
Bradford Bulldogs picked up their second win of the season
at home to Blackburn Eagles on Saturday with a narrow 4-3 victory. In a game that was very evenly matched
throughout (SOG 56-57), the winning goal was scored by Bulldogs’ captain Dean
Boothroyd in the 51st minute. The Bulldogs then lost by the same single
goal margin away at Hull Jets on Sunday, crashing 3-2 on the East coast.
Hull’s victory is their 3rd unbeaten game in a
row after a terrible run of 9 consecutive defeats and keeps them comfortably
above the Bulldogs in 6th place but 3 points behind Altrincham Aces who
are in 5th.
