The Eagles had a 6 point
cushion going into the game and were leading 1-3 at the first break. However the Aces fought back with a 4-2
second period to square the match going into the final third and then made sure
of the win with 4 unanswered goals. Top
scorer for the Aces was Joe Greaves with 1+3 and former EPL player Jake Nurse
chipped in with 4 assists.
The Aces are now 4 points
behind the Eagles with both teams having 6 games left to play and the two teams
meet in Blackburn for the final game of the season on 27th March.
Nottingham Lions continue to
be in the running for second place – and a promotion play-off spot – after a
3-0 shutout of Bradford Bulldogs on Sunday night. The night before, Bradford had hauled
themselves off the bottom of the table with a 7-4 win over Hull Jets.
