Defending champions Solway Sharks – currently sitting second bottom in the table, although they have played fewer league games than everyone else - were in cup action over the weekend.
On Saturday night, they beat Whitley Warriors 4-1 in the first leg of the two-legged St Andrews Cup invitation competition and on Sunday night they lost 7-1 away to Sheffield Steeldogs EPL side in the ECCN.
Billingham Stars lost 1-6 at home to Manchester Phoenix in the ECCN and sit firmly rooted to the bottom of the group table with just 2 points from their 6 cup games.
