The Widnes Wild Junior Academy teams had a superb weekend with two of the three teams that were in action winning their matches.
The Academy Under 12 team beat Deeside 4-0 at home at Planet Ice Widnes on Saturday while the Under 14 team followed that up with a 7-4 victory over the same opposition – with Caleb Eddleston scoring 6 of the 7 goals!
The Academy Under 18 team travelled away to Coventry the same day and put in a battling performance, although they were beaten 9-1.
This weekend sees the Wild Academy Under 16 and Under 18A teams both at home on Saturday at Planet Ice Widnes. The U16s take on Nottingham in a 4.20pm face off, while the Under18A team face Leeds at 6pm.
The Under 18B team are away at Nottingham the same day – 4.50pm face off - while the Under 10s take part in a 4 team cross-ice tournament away in Manchester, starting at 4.15pm.
Admission is free for all spectators to Wild Academy home games at Planet Ice Widnes and fans are encouraged to go along and support the stars of the future.
