The Connah’s Cobras Summer Classic Cup game that had been scheduled for Sunday evening was cancelled after opponents Leeds Lightning were unable to raise a team.
The game had already been moved once from its
original date of 4th May so will now be recorded as a 5-0 forfeit
win to the Cobras, with them being given the 2 league points.
This means that the Connah’s Quay team have
three wins from their 4 group games to date and currently lead the Elite Group table but now face tricky away trips to
face Don Valley Vikings - who have played fewer games and are unbeaten so far - in Sheffield and Whitley Islanders in the North
East, which is always a tough place to go and play.
The top two teams in the final group table will
qualify for the Play Offs, which will be held in Sheffield at the end of
August.
The Cobras are next in action on Saturday 7th June when a development side take on Blackburn Buccaneers in a challenge match at Deeside Leisure Centre.
Face off is at 4.30pm and admission is free for all spectators.
