Saturday 24th May 2025 – BPIHL: Sheffield Steelstings 1 - Cardiff Huskies 8
Defending champions
Cardiff Huskies moved to the top of the British Para Ice Hockey League table
after a 1-8 victory away to Sheffield Steelstings at iceSheffield on Saturday.
The Huskies were
pretty much on top throughout the game and outshot the home side by some
margin. They led 0-2 at the first period
break but most of the damage was done in the second period when they fired in
five more goals.
Sheffield pulled a
goal back but that was one of their few chances in the game. A single goal to Cardiff in the third period
rounded off the scoring.

This weekend sees the
Cardiff in action again – with an away game against Peterborough Phantoms on
Sunday 1st June, 4.30 pm face off.
The two teams
finished level on points at the top of the table in last season’s league
competition and were only separated by results in matches between them.
They met in the first
game of the current season with the Phantoms narrowly winning 4-5 in Cardiff,
so both sides will have plenty to play for on Sunday.
