The Deeside Ducks Laidler Division team has
been re-branded as Deeside Dragons NIHL2 for the forthcoming 2025/26 league
season. The reasoning behind the change
is to tie the team closer to the Deeside Dragons pathway from Junior Dragons
right through to the Senior Dragons.James Parsons

Last year’s Head Coach Gary Shaw – who was
named Laidler Division Coach of the Year for his achievements with the Ducks –
is back for another season, joined again by Simon Hughes as Assistant Coach.
Last year’s Team Manager Angela Wilkes returns and Ian Foster is installed as
General Manager.
An interesting addition to the coaching team
is James Parsons, who has just retired from playing after an impressive 20-year
career in the NIHL, spent almost exclusively with Flintshire Freeze and Deeside
Dragons.
Talking about his new role, Parsons said:
“Seeing how this team started to play after Christmas was exciting, and I’m
really looking forward to what we can achieve. We’ll be working closely with
the D1 Dragons side. We have some talented young players in our junior system,
and we’re looking forward to supporting their development into senior hockey.”
