Sunday’s game saw a special long service presentation for three Widnes Wild Women players who have all reached 100 appearances for the club.

Leen de Decker, Catherine Fell and Stephanie Drinkwater were all founder members of the Wild Women’s team when it was formed in 2015, having all previously played for the Manchester Phoenix team that moved up the M56 to play at Widnes.

De Decker is a former Belgium international player with 52 international caps and she also played 8 seasons for Kingston Diamonds in Hull after moving to the UK from her homeland.

Catherine Fell played 6 seasons with the Flintshire Furies in Deeside and 6 with the Blackburn Thunder before joining the Phoenix and, ultimately, Widnes and - like de Decker - actually played her 100th Wild game on Sunday.

Netminder Stephanie Drinkwater passed the 100 games mark at the end of last season and is the record holder for Wild Women appearances with 112. De Decker holds the records for Widnes goals, assists and overall points with 106 goals, 46 assists and 152 points.
