The Deeside Ducks have announced the signing of another experienced NIHL player – Charlie Spridgeon - for the forthcoming Laidler Division season.
Spridgeon is a product of the Deeside junior system
and has played over 130 competitive games at NIHL level over 5 seasons.
He has played most of his career at Deeside – apart
from the 2021/22 season, when the rink was closed and he won the Laidler
Division title with Telford.
Talking about joining the Ducks, Spridgeon said:
“I am really excited to start playing hockey again
after missing all of last season through injury. I think that we can have a really competitive
season in this league and I’m looking forward to it.”
Ducks Lead Coach Peter Bleackley said of
Spridgeon:
“It’s great to have Charlie on the squad
this season. Having coached him as a junior, we know he brings good energy to a
team with his work rate and net drive. Recently, injury has plagued his seasons
at D1 but, now he is back to fitness, we are hoping for big things from him with
the Ducks.”
Spridgeon
will also continue to be an important member of the Dragons organisation and
will train regularly with the senior team.
