The Widnes Wild Academy Under 10s team won the prestigious Sheffield Tournament for the second time in three years with an awesome goal-rich display at iceSheffield at the weekend.

They beat Solent 8-2, Peterborough Phantoms 21-0, Mini Samurai (Sheffield) 19-0, Sutton 10-3 and Milton Keynes 10-1 to finish top of the group table with a 100% record from their 5 games and a massive goal difference of +68.

They met second placed team Sutton again in the final and beat them 9-1 to secure the trophy.

The Wild Academy are looking to recruit new players for the 2024/2025 season across all age groups from Under 10 to Under 18 and have been holding a series of welcome sessions at the Planet Ice rink during May and June.

Separate “Learn To Play” sessions are also available for anybody new who would like to take up the sport.  For more information, contact Academy Head Coach mike.gilbert@wildacademy.co.uk
