Blackburn Hawks became the second team to qualify for the end of season play offs with a 3 point weekend. They beat Telford Titans 8-1 at home on Saturday evening and then drew 4-4 away at Whitley Warriors on Sunday to keep them in second place in the league table.
Third place Billingham Stars are now 4 points behind the Hawks and they
suffered a 2-3 home defeat at home to Sutton Sting who now climb up into 4th
place.
Whitley Warriors scored twice in the last minute of their game with Blackburn
to snatch a 4-4 draw but the point was not enough to stop them sliding out of
the play off positions, down into 5th. The Warriors are 1 point behind Sutton Sting
but have played a game more.
In the other Moralee game, bottom club Telford Titans finally notched
up their first win of the season at the 23rd time of asking as they
beat Sheffield Spartans 6-5. The Titans now have 3 points in all, having drawn
with Whitley Warriors earlier in the year.
