Karl Bacon has joined the Dragons NIHL 2 team for the forthcoming Laidler
Division season.
While the aim of the team – like its predecessor, the Ducks, last season - is to give all-important ice time to younger players, experience has shown the presence of a number of older, wiser heads on the ice with them is a valuable asset to help them with their development.
Bacon has played for the Dragons senior team for four seasons and, having also had stints with the original Dragons 2 and at Blackburn Hawks, has played some 160 games at NIHL level.
Talking about Bacon’s signing, coach James Parsons said:
“Having played alongside Karl for a number of years now, one thing that has always stood out is his passion - a real want and desire to play for this great club. This is something we’ll be looking for Bacon to pass on to the younger players.”
