The Mayhem Sledge team were without a game at the weekend and are preparing to face new league leaders Sheffield Steelkings in their next game away in the Steel City this Saturday 5th July, face off 6.10pm.

The Steelkings moved to the top of the British Para Ice Hockey League table after their 0-7 win over Sheffield rink-mates the Steelstings at the weekend.

Sheffield has two sledge teams – the Steelkings, who are the main “A team”, and the Steelstings, who are a development side aimed at nurturing younger and less experienced players.

The Steelkings are now 1 point ahead of erstwhile leaders and defending champions Cardiff Huskies at the top of the table with two games in hand and the league’s only unbeaten record.

Following Saturday’s away game the Mayhem are next in action on Saturday 19th July when they take on Peterborough Phantoms at Planet Ice Widnes.  That game faces off at 6.30pm, which is a later start time than unusual due to another game going on beforehand.
