The Widnes Wild Women’s team have received a grant from the Rentokil Initial UK Community Outreach Fund to help towards their operating expenses as they prepare for the 2025/26 WNIHL season.

Rentokil Initial UK, part of the global Rentokil Initial group, is a leading business services company providing pest control, hygiene, property care and wellbeing services in the UK.

The Regional Head of PR for Rentokil Initial UK said:  “Now in its ninth year, the Rentokil Initial UK Community Outreach Fund supports sports clubs, teams, individuals and events across the UK with funding for team kit or equipment, and we are delighted to be supporting Widnes Wild Women in 2025.”

Ice hockey is a very expensive sport to take part in and, on top of their own personal equipment, the players have to pool together to cover the costs of ice time rental for training sessions and matches, match officials fees for home games, team travel to away games, league registration fees and all sorts of other things that come up over the course of the season.

Wild Women General Manager Karyn Cooper said: “We are thrilled to be recipients of this grant from the Rentokil Initial Community Outreach Fund. The sport of ice hockey is an expensive one and any help we can get with making it more accessible to our players is very welcome. After a successful 2024/25 season we are looking to continue building and we're always on the lookout for additional sponsors.”

The Wild women have sponsorship packages available to suit all budgets - from individuals up to large companies – and anybody interested in offering support for the new season is asked to contact the team via their social media or by email to: widneswildwomen@gmail.com
