Chelmsford Chieftains beat Bracknell Bees 4-1 to notch up their first win against an EPL side in the English Challenge Cup South. The defending champions were actually outshot 24-46 but made the most of their chances and finished things off nicely with an empty net goal in the final minute.
The night before, they has lost 4-1 away at EPL side Basingstoke Bison , being outshot 42-17 and actually leading for 8 minutes in the first period, having scored the first goal of the game at on 8.47.
Chieftains remain top of the table as second placed Streatham Redskins didn't have a league game but did win 7-3 away at London Raiders in the South 1 Cup.
Bracknell Hornets moved up into 3rd place after an up and down weekend that saw them lose 6-1 away at Wightlink Raiders on Saturday and then beat Cardiff Devils at home 8-4 on Sunday. Milton Keynes Thunder kept up their good start to the season with a 4-1 win over bottom club Oxford City Stars and move into 5th above Wightlink Raiders.
Invicta Dynamos also had an ECCS weekend, losing 7-1 away at Bracknell Bees EPL on Saturday and then at home 1-9 to Guildford Flames EPL on Sunday.
Wightlink also lost in the ECCS - 9-1 away at Basingstoke Bison EPL.
