South 1 Weekend Round Up : 1st & 2nd November

Chelmsford Chieftains took over at the top of the South 1 table after a robust (92 PIMs)...) 4-7 win away at Streatham Redskins. The Redskins actually outshot their visitors 40 - 37 and were the first team to score but, by the end of the first period, they were 2-5 down to the defending champions, Then, at the end of the second period, they lost influential forward Steven Fisher to a 2+2+2+10+10 penalty so that was that...

The Redskins drop to second and are closely followed by Bracknell Hornets who beat Oxford City Star 6-3 at home on Saturday night before succumbing to the same opposition away 3-2 on Sunday. That was only the Stars' second win of the season and, while they remain bottom, they now join Cardiff Devils on 4 points.

In the other S1 games of the weekend, Solent Devils picked up a 5-4 win away at London Raiders and Invicta Dynamos moved to within touching distance of the top half of the table with a 7-3 win over Cardiff.

In the ECCS, Wightlink Raiders were shut out 0-3 at home by the Swindon Wildcats EPL side and the lost 3-2 away at Chelmsford in a game that also counts towards the South 1 Cup. On Sunday night Invicta Dynamos lost 9-1 away at Swindon Wildcats EPL.
