Moralee Conference Weekend Round Up - 14th & 15th February

Blackburn Hawks secured the Moralee Conference title, with 6 games still to play, after their 8-2 home win over Sheffield Spartans put them beyond the reach of the other - albeit distant – challengers.  Sutton Sting’s 6-1 win over Billingham Stars ended the north east team’s own title hopes for the season and also lifted the iceSheffield side into 2nd place – their highest position of the season thus far.

Sting and 3rd place Stars both have 21 points, although Billingham have a game in hand.  Solway Sharks – down in 4th place - also have a game in hand over Sutton and are just one point behind with 20 following their 9-1 win over bottom team Manchester Minotaurs.

The Manchester team have yet to pick up a single point this season and, with 6 games left to play, are already assured of finishing bottom as they cannot catch any of the teams above them.
