Under 16 Match Report: Blackpool Seagulls 3 Blackburn Hawks 1

The away fixture back in November produced a narrow 2-3 victory of the Seagulls and this first competitive Lancashire derby at the new Fylde Coast Ice Arena was a similarly close-fought and nervy encounter.

After a goal-less first period, the tie was effectively settled with 3 goals in just over 4 minutes midway through the second period with strikes from Nathan Frankel (assist Lewis Bennett), Charles Ratcliffe (James Harvey-Dougherty) and Jacob Lutwyche (Charles Ratcliffe).

Netminder Harrison Walker looked to set to pick up a shut-out but those hopes were dashed with a Blackburn consolation goal from Haven Vincett (assist Oscar Wilding)  just 25 seconds from the final buzzer. MVPs were Harrison Walker (Seagulls) and Evan Corner (Hawks).
