In the Laidler Conference , the most intriguing question would have to be:
who will secure the second promotion place behind run away leaders Solihull
Barons? The Barons were without a game
at the weekend but sit 6 points clear of the chasing pack with games in hand. Telford Tiger look favourites to tame second
at present – their 2-8 win away at Deeside Dragons on Sunday moved the back
above Sheffield Senators and, while the Senators are having a great season, they
have played more games than anybody else and may well drop down once the teams
below them play their games in hand.
Hull Jets had the best of the weekend with wins away at Bradford
Bulldogs and at home to Blackburn Eagles and the resulting 4 points elevate
them right in to the promotion and play odd mix with games in hand. Nottingham, Widnes and Deeside are all still in
with a shout and it will be interesting at the end of the season to see how the
double points games have affected the overall league table.
