Laidler Conference Weekend Round Up - 13th & 14th December

League leaders Solihull Barons reinforced their dominance at the top of the table with a 4 point weekend that now extends their unbeaten start to the season to 17 games.

They had to come back from 3-1 down to win 4-3 away at Telford Tigers in what was by far the Barons' closest result of the season so far.  Despite being outshot 24 to 70, Tigers lead 3 -2 going into the last 10 minutes. In all netminder Denis Bell turned away 66 of the 70 shots that he faced.

On Sunday evening, the Barons had much easier time of despatching Coventry Blaze 16-2 in another Midlands derby.  Joe Henry top-scored with 3+4 in a game that saw 104 PIMs.

Tigers are 3rd in the table after another close game on Sunday when they won away at Nottingham Lions 1-2.

Lions had beaten bottom team Bradford Bulldogs 4-12 away on Saturday (in photo) and the Bulldogs were shut out 11-0 away at Deeside Dragons on Sunday.

In the other Laidler game of the weekend, Sheffield Senators won 6-3 away at Hull Jets to keep them in second place, two points ahead of Telford.
