South 1 Weekend Round Up - 6th & 7th December

Defending champions Chelmsford Chieftains returned to the top of the table following their 7-2 home win over London Raiders on Sunday night.

Previous table toppers Streatham Redskins had a weekend to forget, losing out to a goal 90 seconds from the end in a 9-8 defeat away at Bracknell Hornets on Saturday and then succumbing 1-6 at home to a vastly improved Wightlink Raiders on Sunday.

The Chieftains now lead the table by two clear points and have played 3 games fewer than the Redskins.

Milton Keynes Thunder had an unbeaten weekend, drawing 4-4 away at Wightlink on Saturday and then shutting out Bracknell 3-0 on Sunday.

Promoted Oxford City Stars picked up only their 3rd win of the season with a 4-2 win away at London Raiders and that leaves the Lee Valley tenants 2 points adrift at the bottom of the table, albeit with 2 games in hand over the Stars.

In the other 2 South 1 games of the weekend, Invicta Dynamos beat Cardiff Devils 11- 2 and Solent Devils beat Oxford 10-2.
